Regarding care of a patient with possible or known 2019-Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) disease, CDC is now recommending, “Use respiratory protection (i.e., a respirator) that is at least as protective as a fit-tested NIOSH-certified disposable N95 filtering facepiece respirator before entry into the patient room or care area.”
Have the patient don a surgical mask. Notify the hospital as soon as possible, but prior to arrival.
