The EMS Star of Life nominations are now open until February 21, 2020. It is the 20th anniversary!! The nomination packet is attached and can also be found at www.ems.ohio.gov . Last year’s awards program can be viewed in the lower right-hand corner.
Please share with your EMS/fire departments. The awards ceremony will be held on May 20, 2020.
Award categories include:
· EMS Stars – the crew is reunited with the patient at the ceremony.
· Medical Director of the Year
· EMS Provider of the Year
· Agency of the Year
· Frank Giampetro Educator of the Year
· Jack B. Liberator Lifetime Achievement Award.
Additionally, the Greater Miami Valley EMS Council would like to remind you: nominate personnel for our Norma Dittrick Extra Measure of Service Award, and the Tom Long lifetime achievement award! Here are the criteria for those:
Norma Dittrick Extra Measure Service Award – Major Contribution to EMS
Demonstrate nominee’s professional integrity and competence in their performance. Identify specific contribution in which an individual or group performed. Patient care, technical skill and performance observed at scene(s) which reflect exceptional service in EMS. Show nominee’s contribution to improvements in the health care delivery system.
Contribution to Community
One who goes beyond the call of duty to provide an “extra measure of service” within the community. Identify service provided to the community by individuals or groups that were considered exceptional.
Self-Improvement
Identify individuals or groups growth in service toward EMS.
Tom Long Lifetime achievement award- The Lifetime Achievement Award is designed to recognize outstanding individuals who have made a life-long contribution to the high quality of emergency medical services within the greater Miami Valley.
