#GMVEMSC: Potential for Spread of COVID in EMS Rooms

Please remind everyone that EMS rooms at the hospitals are not safe spaces in terms of spreading the virus – nowhere is.  We are seeing increasing numbers of cases of COVID-19 in public safety personnel, including law enforcement, fire, and EMS.

COVID-19 can be spread by both pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic persons.  EVERYONE IN EMS ROOMS SHOULD DISTANCE THEMSELVES TO THE DEGREE POSSIBLE, AND EVERYONE IN THE EMS ROOM SHOULD BE WEARING A SURGICAL/PROCEDURAL MASK (not a cloth face covering).  Do not overcrowd the EMS Rooms.

Remember too that eating in the vicinity of others increases risk of spreading the disease.

Information brought to you by Dayton MMRS with approval from Dr. Marriott, Region 3 RPAB Chair.  We gratefully acknowledge the help and support of GMVEMSC, and public health, public safety, emergency management and other agencies and individuals throughout the region.
