The new database is complete and ready for members to create profiles. All department training officers are asked to first create their accounts. Once their accounts are approved, the rest of the department members can create their accounts for approval by the department training officer. Attached is a PowerPoint with directions on how to create an account.

Immediate Opening

 

Miami Township Fire-Rescue (MTFR) in Yellow Springs, Ohio is looking for a part-time Firefighter/EMT to work alongside career and volunteer staff on a 12-hour day shift every six days.  Candidates must possess Ohio Firefighter 1 certification and Ohio EMT certification.  MTFR serves approximately the 6,000 residents of and over 1 million annual visitors to Yellow Springs, Clifton and Miami Township in Greene County utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and procedures.  The service area includes John Bryan State Park, Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve, and Glen Helen.  MTFR is a progressive combination-staffed agency with volunteer, career and part-time personnel responding to approximately 1,050 incidents per year.  Starting pay rate is $11.50 per hour; $1 per hour additional for Fire Safety Inspector certification.  Department will provide high & low angle rope rescue and confined space rescue training free of charge.

RECRUITMENT

 

The HHFD is a progressive fire division serving a community of over 40,000 people utilizing state-of-art equipment and procedures. HHFD is a Class II rated, career organization that will be comprised of 54 career Firefighter/ Paramedics. Personnel work a 24/48 schedule with an average 51 hour work week responding to about 8,000 calls per year out of three fire stations. Within the last two years, the HHFD has opened a new fire station and expanded minimum daily staffing by about 15%.

 

The HHFD has scheduled an examination to hire an additional three Firefighter/Paramedic positions and to fill future vacancies. There is an immediate need to fill four positions for a total of six planned positions for 2019.

 

REQUIREMENTS AND HOW TO APPLY:

 

The HHFD is seeking candidates desiring to work in a progressive, fast-paced environment. Minimum Requirements:  At least 18 years of age; High School Diploma or GED equivalent; possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License.  Applicant must possess any combination of the following to apply:  Ohio Firefighter Level II, Paramedic. Current Paramedic Student and current Level II student. Current Firefighter Level II and Paramedic student or Current Paramedic and Firefighter Level II student.

 

Candidates must possess both Ohio Level II Firefighter and Ohio Paramedic certifications prior to appointment.

 

 

Written examination will be held on January 19, 2018 at 9:00 AM
