#GMVEMSC: Standing Orders Database Updgrade Information

**Standing Orders Database Upgrade Information**

In order to eliminate confusion and duplication of information, please do not enter any 2018 CBT or skills testing results into the current Standing Orders Database. The new database is in the process of being built and CBT testing history will be imported from QuestBase when that is complete.

Skills testing for this year can be entered when the new database is ready as well.

If you have any questions regarding this please contact either Alex Brahm or John Russell, co-chairs of the Education Committee. Their information is listed below:

Subject: Please Post With My Council Signature to the List Serve.

The BOP is actively inspecting departments in our area.  They are testing doors and other areas of stations to make sure that doors latch and overall the station is secure.  They are not taking hinge pins off the doors.  They have used a credit card to test locks to make sure they can't slip a lock with the card.  When it comes to locking up the medic if you are on a call then the medic does not need locked up while on the call but please when at the hospitals do not leave a drug bag laying in the patient compartment area and the doors wide open.  Please try to bring the bag inside with you.  If the bay doors or station doors are propped open then you can expect a visit if they drive by and in those cases please make sure the medics are secured if there are no personnel in the bay.  The BOP is also checking for Oxygen Fill Logs.

Wet Ink signatures are still needed in a form if your E-PCR is not compliant with the BOP requirements attached is a form that Huber Heights uses that is compliant with the BOP requirements.  Also these forms are to be kept at the station the run originates from or a waiver form needs completed.  If there are questions about this please contact myself or Chief Knisley at kknisley@hhoh.org as they just had an inspection by the BOP.

The BOP also wants a copy of the Protocol in a binder at the station with a notarized medical director signature authorizing the use of the protocols.  You do not need to upload your personnel list or protocols anymore either.

Please contact me with any questions.

#GMVEMSC: Reminder of Upcoming closure of inpatient OB services at Good Samaritan

Reminder of Upcoming closure of inpatient OB services at Good Samaritan.

To Our EMS Partners:

As the process of transitioning services from Good Samaritan Hospital to our other Premier Health Hospitals begins, we would like to remind you of the first of these transitions.  On April 13, 2018, inpatient obstetrical services will cease at Good Samaritan Hospital, inclusive of labor and delivery services.  As such, EMS will no longer take patients directly to Good Samaritan Hospital’s inpatient labor and delivery unit (Family Birthing Center) as of April 13, 2018. The hospital capability chart is being updated as well to reflect these changes. Patients can be redirected to Miami Valley Hospital’s Berry Women’s Center for direct access to labor and delivery services.

The Good Samaritan Hospital Emergency Department as always can manage an emergent OB patient who is not stable enough to make it to a hospital with inpatient obstetrical capabilities.

If there are any questions or concerns, please contact Laura Clark at leclark@premierhealth.com or 937-734-2448, or contact Brendan Deere at bpdeere@premierhealth.com or 937-499-8757.

We will continue to update you as other services transition from Good Samaritan Hospital.

Thank you for all of your support during this time of transition.
