COVID-19: Legal and Documentation Issues for EMS Field Practitioners

PWW is teaming up with NAEMT and Lexpipol/EMS1 to present a special free national EMS law webinar geared specifically for EMS field practitioners on Friday, April 17th at 2pm EDT (11am PDT / 1pm CT).  Sign up for this important event HERE

This webinar will tackle some very timely and pressing issues confronting EMS practitioners as they work the front lines of the global COVID-19 pandemic.  NAEMT President Matt Zavadsky will provide an overview of national advocacy efforts on behalf of EMS clinicians.  Then, EMS attorneys and PWW co-founders Steve Wirth and Doug Wolfberg – both of whom spent decades in the field as EMS providers prior to becoming attorneys – will present a range of legal and documentation issues confronting EMS practitioners in these unprecedented times.  Among other topics, they will discuss what information can be shared and documented under HIPAA.  They'll talk about how the CDC's EMS guidance affects documentation practices.  They will discuss the latest guidance on the rules surrounding capturing patient signatures.  They will present strategies that EMS clinicians can employ to protect themselves from unnecessary legal liability during the pandemic.  And they will present key information on documenting how a COVID-19 patient meets "medical necessity" requirements.

Don't miss this important national EMS law event geared specifically for EMTs, paramedics, supervisors and other front-line EMS practitioners, as well as EMS agency administrators and others with an interest in EMS legal and documentation issues during the pandemic.  This information is being presented by the nation's authoritative source for EMS law guidance – Page, Wolfberg & Wirth, along with our partners at NAEMT and Lexipol/EMS1.
