Dear Ohio First Responder Community:

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Health and Safety Institute (HSI) is offering an additional 30% discount on top of the already deeply discounted rate for Ohio first responders. The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) has made a change in recertification guidelines. NREMT's Board of Directors approved a motion extending the current recertification deadline from March 31, 2020, to June 30, 2020.

Additionally, all registrants due to recertify March 31, 2020, will not have Distributive Education limitations, meaning those whose NREMT recertification expires March 31, 2020, can now take 100% of their continuing education (CE) hours through online training programs such as 24-7 EMS. These registrants have until June 30, 2020, to complete their CE hours. Complete information about this change can be found HERE

In addition, the Division of State Fire Marshal’s Ohio Fire Academy has had a long-standing partnership with HSI and its 24-7 EMS and 24-7 Fire CAPCE accredited training courses. In the spirit of partnership and support during these difficult times, 24-7 is stepping up and extending the following offer through Ohio Fire Academy for any fire department, EMS agency, firefighter, or EMS provider in Ohio:

  • Free access to the 1.0 CEH course “Pediatric Cardiac Arrest: Management and Response (V2)” for anyone new to the 24-7 EMS platform and who uses this link to register.
  •  A reduced price for the 24-7 EMS & 24-7 Fire library options, including Fire Development, EMS CE, EMS CE & Fire Combo, and virtual instructor-led training (VILT). The discounted pricing can be found on www.ofots.com.

For more information on what the Ohio Fire Academy has to offer in online training, please visit www.ofots.com.

Thank you for all you are doing to keep Ohio’s emergency response systems operational. Be safe and please be particularly vigilant while donning and doffing PPE during this COVID-19 pandemic.
