Please see the below info from the Pharmacists regarding shortages of pre-filled Lidocaine syringes in the drug bags:
Lidocaine 2% 5ml syringes (pink box, intermediate pocket) are on drug shortage.
When necessary, they will be replaced with a lidocaine syringe kit including a 5ml vial of lidocaine 2%, a 10ml syringe, and a needle.
Please make sure all crews are aware of this potential situation with their drug bags. Also there may be no indications on the bags since this is a substitution instead of an omission.
