Sinclair Community College EMS department is actively searching for adjunct faculty members to begin teaching in Fall of 2021. Adjunct faculty provide the majority of education within the laboratory and clinical settings. Adjunct faculty are paid by the course: teaching, setup, tear down, remediation, emails, etc. This results in an hourly rate of approximately $37.00 - $40.00/hour.
The successful candidate will
- Be an Ohio licensed paramedic
- Be an Ohio licensed EMS instructor – full course
- Be a practicing paramedic for at least 2 years
- Have previous experience in teaching EMS
- Have a high school diploma / GED
Candidates selected for interview will
- Demonstrate effective teaching techniques. Candidates will teach any EMS topic for 20 minutes to an interview panel.
- Interview with the EMS Department Chairperson
- Demonstrate current knowledge in EMS. This requirement is deferred until 2022. This is accomplished through
- Taking and passing the NREMT test at the paramedic level within the last year
- Taking and passing the FP-C or CCP-C test within the last year
- Taking and passing the Sinclair paramedic program comprehensive final within the last year.
