ANNOUNCEMENT

 

Ohio law requires all agencies to review existing administrative rules every five years to determine if a rule should be rescinded, amended, or continued without change (No Change).

 

The amended and rescind/new rules in the following chapters were final filed for five year review with the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review (JCARR) on June 4, 2018.

 

Seven rules are no change rules.  Twenty-nine rules were amended, and one rule was rescinded and replaced; these rules became effective on June 15, 2018:

  • OAC Rules 4765-1-03 is revised to include the current titles, dates, and locations of materials incorporated by reference in the EMS rules.
  • OAC 4765-7-02 is amended to set forth the process and requirements for an initial applicant for accreditation as a paramedic training program to apply for provisional status and to meet Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) requirements prior to receiving approval to promote or initiate a course.
  • OAC rule 475-7-03 is amended to include a provisional status for new applicants seeking initial accreditation for a paramedic training program during the CoAEMSP application period.
  • OAC rule 4765-7-07 is amended to clarify the student pass rate requirements of the initial certification testing for first attempts and within three attempts.
  • OAC rules 4765-12-04, 4765-12-05, 4765-15-04, 4765-15-05, 4765-16-04, 4765-16-06, 4765-17-03, and 4765-17-04 are amended to add approved additional services to the scopes of practice and to update education curriculum requirements.
  • Several rules are revised to correct punctuation, spelling, grammar, or formatting.
