City of Huber Heights Fire Division

Level II Firefighter/Paramedic

 

The City of Huber Heights is a progressive Fire Division that is comprised of 54 career Firefighter/Paramedics serving a community of over 40,000 residents utilizing state-of-art equipment and procedures.  The City is conducting a written examination to establish an eligibility list for hiring of full-time Firefighter/Paramedic, one to be filled immediately and up to five additional positions in 2021.

 

Process will include a written examination and oral interview.  Prior to appointment, candidate must submit to an extensive background investigation, truth verification test, drug screen, physical ability test, physical and psychological examination. Written examination will be held on December 5, 2020 at 9:00 AM, location TBD.  Individuals with the top 25 scores from written exam will move forward to the interview process which will occur the week of December 14, 2020.

Minimum Requirements: Applicant must be at least 18 years of age; High School Diploma or GED equivalent; possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License; must possess an Ohio Level II Firefighter and Paramedic certificates or possess either certificate and/or are currently enrolled in a training program to complete the Level II and/or Paramedic.  Applicant must possess both an Ohio Level II Firefighter and Paramedic certifications prior to appointment.

 

The 2021 salary range is $51,899.64 to $75,396.36 with a five-step pay process. Benefits include, but not limited to, annual holiday bonus, 10 EDO’s, 36 hours personal leave, sick leave and vacation accrual (up to 15 days based on previous service credit) and excellent health insurance benefits.
