OHIO CARES PROGRAM

AND

OHIO CARES STATE COORDINATOR

The Ohio Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival (Ohio CARES) is a non-profit organization whose primary goal is to improve out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survival by providing Ohio communities, EMS providers, and health care systems with vital data and resources.  Ohio CARES utilizes the national infrastructure to measure and report important cardiac arrest statistics, current treatment modalities, and survival outcome comparisons.  Through collaboration with communities and health care providers, Ohio CARES facilitates implementation of evidence-based solutions that are focused on increasing out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survivability.

Nationally, CARES represents EMS agencies and hospitals that serve more than 135 million Americans.  The Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of EMS continues its commitment to pay the yearly CARES subscription fee for Ohio’s EMS agencies.  The State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services also supports this public health program with a goal of utilizing CARES data to conduct vital research that furthers the understanding of cardiac arrest treatment in order to save countless lives for years to come.

On behalf of the Ohio CARES program, we would also like to inform you of their vacant Ohio CARES State Coordinator position.  Please note this position is not affiliated with the State of Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of EMS for which a mandatory hiring freeze is currently in effect.  Interested persons should visit http://www.ohiocares.net/events for a position description and additional information.
