#GMVEMSC: Reminder of Upcoming closure of inpatient OB services at Good Samaritan

Reminder of Upcoming closure of inpatient OB services at Good Samaritan.

To Our EMS Partners:

As the process of transitioning services from Good Samaritan Hospital to our other Premier Health Hospitals begins, we would like to remind you of the first of these transitions.  On April 13, 2018, inpatient obstetrical services will cease at Good Samaritan Hospital, inclusive of labor and delivery services.  As such, EMS will no longer take patients directly to Good Samaritan Hospital’s inpatient labor and delivery unit (Family Birthing Center) as of April 13, 2018. The hospital capability chart is being updated as well to reflect these changes. Patients can be redirected to Miami Valley Hospital’s Berry Women’s Center for direct access to labor and delivery services.

The Good Samaritan Hospital Emergency Department as always can manage an emergent OB patient who is not stable enough to make it to a hospital with inpatient obstetrical capabilities.

If there are any questions or concerns, please contact Laura Clark at leclark@premierhealth.com or 937-734-2448, or contact Brendan Deere at bpdeere@premierhealth.com or 937-499-8757.

We will continue to update you as other services transition from Good Samaritan Hospital.

Thank you for all of your support during this time of transition.
