CQI Committee Request
We have less than a month before our next meeting, Oct 4th at 1130. And we would like to discuss this assessment at the meeting. Please direct any feedback to chris64brock@gmail.com or bring it to the meeting.
A couple things:
If you query multiple PCRs to perform your QA/QI, please still evaluate this process. We want all the feedback we can get. We will be testing our multiple PCR process soon.
· All measurements in this assessment are draft measures and have not been approved by the CQI Committee.
· There are only 4 call categories in this assessment, which are:
o Chest Pain
o Fall
o MVC
o Cardiac Arrest (only transports, no field terms)
Thank you for your time,
Chris L. Brock

GMVEMSC Mobile App
If you already have the app, just close and relaunch it to see the latest features and protocols. If you do not have the app yet stand by a few days as we are in the process of submitting it to the Apple App Store and Google Play so it can be downloaded by new users. We'll let everyone know when that process is complete.

2016 EMS Week Resources and Sample Proclamation
If your agency hasn't already, we hope you'll consider adapting the proclamation sent out by GMVEMSC PR Committee Chair, Bryan Adams, and having it issued by your community. A draft proclamation is at the bottom of this email.
In addition to all the many celebrations of this week, there is one that will actually occur next week: the Greater Miami Valley EMS Council Meeting at 2 PM, Tuesday, May 24. This will be a very special meeting. We've booked a different location for this meeting so there will be room for many to attend. More information will be out on the listserv in just the next few days, but put the meeting on your calendar. It will include an opportunity to see some of the people who have contributed to the long and rich history of our Council, and who have had major roles in making EMS in our region what it is today. We will also present our annual awards, so make sure to attend!
Plan to be there!

Ohio Division of EMS, EMFTS Board and the Ohio ACEP Host 16th Annual Star of Life Awards
Premier event recognizes and honors Ohio’s excellent prehospital providers
the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Division of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services (EMFTS) and the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (Ohio ACEP) will join forces and host the 16th Annual EMS Star of Life Awards ceremony in observance of National Emergency Medical Services Week (May 15-21).
“An estimated 240 million calls are made to 9-1-1 in the U.S. each year, with approximately 1 million emergency runs for EMS in the state each year,” said Ohio EMS Executive Director Mel House. “EMS teams are ready to provide critical, lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week; with many of our first responders being volunteers.”
National Emergency Medical Services Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine's "front line."
The ceremony will be held Wednesday, May 18, 1p.m. in the ODOT Auditorium at 1980 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio.
The theme "EMS STRONG: Called to Care…"exemplifies the commitment and dedication of the 750,000 EMS providers nationwide, and the more than 34,000 in Ohio, who provide an essential community service every day.
For in-depth coverage of the ceremony that day, watch live at www.ems.ohio.gov, become a fan on Facebook by searching Emergency Medical Services or follow us on Twitter at OHIO_EMS.

A message from the GMV Web Committee:
The Greater Miami Valley EMS Council's Website has been upgraded to a blogger
format.
This format change will allow us to better serve the needs of our membership
by:

our site template as needed. Our previous site did not allow flexibility.

- Allowing you to add your e-mail
for notification of new articles or updates to the site.
The website address is unchanged: www.gmvemsc.org
Please take a look around....you'll notice that links and menus are clearly
labeled, and that the info you need will be much easier to find; including
contact info for council officers, EMS Coordinators, and hospitals.
If you do see additional info that needs to be added, please let us know.
Some highlights:
- The site has been re-designed
for functionality and ease of use.
- The tabs above will take you to
informational areas.
- Note the Quick Links in the
right sidebar for access to popular files!
- Please consider using the
e-mail address box (right) to be alerted to updates and new articles.
